SPANISH MACKERELAlso known as Spaniards, the Spanish mackerel have exceptional eye sight and scissor sharp teeth. They will quickly remove your lure just leaving you frustrated! Heavy traces are a must if you want to land this cunning hunter. Once hooked you can expect a long, exciting run, but they will tire fairly quickly.
TunaAnother cunning hunter with exceptional eye sight, they make a challenging quarry. Often found in large schools, rounding up bait fish on the surface, they have been known to reject lures that do not promise them a match to the bait schools they are hunting. The Guru is familiar with their hunting style, and knows just which lure to use to on the day. Single minded in their pursuits, they are not easily fooled! They can be found in Darwin Harbour.
QUEENFISHTorpedo like and tenacious this ‘silver streak’ will charge from the surface of the water shaking madly in an attempt to release itself, crash down and repeat the whole process again and again with what seems boundless energy. Spectacular fishing on light tackle Queenfish or Skinnies make for a great day on the water!
TREVALLYGT’s or Giant Trevally are a brutish fish that rank right up there with the best! Caught on lures they can range from 2 – 3 Lb school Trevally, right up to your 50lb monster. They are a magnificent fighting fish and can offer you pound for pound one the hardest fights you will experience in tropical waters.
